Shock Wave Therapy in London | Our story of ESWT development

The causes of pain in heel of children (Severs Disease), unfortunately, are two-fold:

 1. Overuse running and jumping

2. Inherent weakness at the ankle- caused by growth plate.

NOTE: The weakness of the heel is normal and is a by-product of growth, there is nothing wrong with your child apart from the fact there bodies growth can't keep up.

Severs Disease happens in young budding athletes who run a lot. The excessive pulling of the heel cord on the heel during activity disturbs the growth plate in the heel. This disturbance of the heel growth plate causes pain meaning a child might start to limp after a short period of running or jumping. Our treatment ESWT works tostimulate bone growth in the heel and rapidly catch up the bone development by vibrating the heel bone.
